Spring Break

Recently my best friend moved to San Diego. It has been one of the hardest things to deal with, but so far we have been able to keep in touch in a great way. We talk on the phone at least twice a day, and he sends me pictures of all of the beautiful beaches over there. I plan on visiting him over spring break this year, and I cannot wait. I’ve never been outside of the east coast, nor have I ever traveled alone so I am a little nervous. I want to see the famous San Diego zoo while I’m there, along with Seaworld and their enormous boardwalk. Sea animals are my favorite kinds of animals, and I have been told that there are some great snorkeling opportunities out there. My favorite animals include sting rays and manatees. I got the opportunity this past summer to swim with manatees in Florida, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. They are such gentle creatures, and it is truly a shame that they are so endangered. Although there are not many manatees on the west coast, there are several sting rays. There is a beach in San Diego that allows people to snorkel and swim with the sting rays, an opportunity that I cannot pass up. I am not sure my best friend knows of my plans to do this, but he is going to be forced to do it with me! He doesn’t realize how fun it will really be. I am also extremely excited to simply be on a different beach besides Ocean City. The boardwalk in San Diego is apparently a million times better than the boardwalk in Ocean City. Their boardwalk includes 4 or 5 different beach; whereas, ours only includes one. I am really looking forward to this spring break for all these new and exciting experiences!
